Hi guys,
I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your amazing support for the Hush, Hush movie. Your love and passion for this project are humbling! With that said, I have some movie news to share. Unfortunately it may not be the news you've been waiting to hear. I have decided that now is not the right time to move forward with the Hush, Hush movie and have not renewed the movie option with LD Entertainment. I know many of you will be disappointed by this. But I hope that you trust me to make the right decision for Nora and Patch. I'm not saying the movie will never happen, but it won’t be moving forward at this time.

Don't worry :) It's better to wait more for a better movie with the best cast than making the movie fast.

I'm from Norway, just saying, haha! But I would rater wait for a good movie that's thought through than a movie made in a hurry, we'll all wait for as lond as it take Rebecca! :)

DeleteI'm a huge fan of the book but I don't want it to be film. The characters will never be the same as the book. I don't think anyone in the world can replace the real Patch & Nora. And Vee. And Scott. Whatever. So I didn't get upset at all, I can even say that it's good news to me.

ReplyDeleteHush, Hush will always be my favorite novel/series. I'm really glad you are giving it so much consideration. If the movie would not be done perfectly, it isn't worth it. Nora and Patch are absolutely amazing as is in their stories.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I think I stand with many people on saying we want the film to be as magical as the books. 😄 (besides this gives me a chance to audition as Nora 😝) but seriously I think your choice is the right one.

This in particular make me a little sad, but I know that is your decision and I agreed with that. You know what is the best for the characters and we, that are fans of the story and you, have to respect and wait for the best movie ever that gonna came. So, thank you for always think about our opinion and trying do the best always.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with other commenters that I would much prefer no movie at all to one that is a disappointment and disgrace to the heart and soul of the book. I have been absolutely shocked by some of my favorite novels being destroyed in film. If it isn't going to stand up on its own legs as a movie, then you're definitely making the right call to wait.

Because your idea, that I think that you have, is wait by new actors, yet not there nobody that can interpret and resembling to Patch & Nora like you want, and like are in the book. This is sad, but you have our support, and to wait by new and good actors for Patch and Nora!.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little bit disappointed because i really love the books and can't wait for the movie and especially the time before with all the cast news and pictures. But i really admire your decision, because you really want to have a say and the movie to get as good as possible. Moreover here in Germany the books aren't as popular as they should in my opinion, so maybe in one year there will be so much more fans.
ReplyDeleteI agree that you made the right choice. This is still my favorite of any saga I've read, and the actors should be just right. I honestly couldn't pick anyone more perfect for Patch then Ian Somerhalder. Hopefully it works out perfectly.

ReplyDeleteSounds good your decision Becca ..Hush , Hush is my favorite saga so far and I really would not like that happens the same like with the TFIOS movie , no one read the book and do not really understand how beautiful it is to read and imagine the characters..In addition each has in his imagination to Patch and all the characters, and if on the movie are choosen the wrong actors it could be ruined..I'm very jealous of my stories , and I would like to see a movie , but I prefer to save Patch for myself and those who share the same feelings when I read the saga..

ReplyDeleteI appreciate that movie news. But do hope that you decide to have the movie made soon. The book to movie adaption is going to be cooling down & that would be a perfect time to bring something new & big to the screen. I'm such a fan of this series, & I consider it one of the best love stories I've ever read. So I hope I can see this on the big screen one day sooner then later.

If you do let someone make it into a movie, please please please don't let them ruin it. I have seen so many good books be ruined by terrible casting, changing of the original story line, and terrible acting. Please don't let that happen to these books because I really love them a lot.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I'm not upset by this. I might have been a few months ago, but after the atrocity that was the Vampire Academy movie, I can live with this. I hope I never have to see such a mangled adaptation such as that again. :)

ReplyDeleteA question: Have you ever thought that if it becomes a movie, must the girl who plays Nora be American, or can she be from another country, like Norway? Of course she can speak English.
Becca we are always behind you, if you think this is for the best then we totally agree with you. Hush,hush is your book, you know them better then any one, if it wasn't the right time then it just isn't the right time.

A movie would've been nice, but I think it's even nicer for us to keep imagining Patch and Nora's story in our own ways. I agree with Becca Fitzpatrick and I couldn't agree more with her choice.

This movie will not be the same if we don't have a perfect writing. So, I'll wait. But, I'm so excited for watch this movie on the big screen. THANKS BECCA FOR THIS INCREDIBLE SAGA!
